CFO Consultant, Ed Sammarco, is extremely passionate about providing core accounting and financial support to small business owners. Ed’s experience in all areas of business growth also provides him with the experience and insight necessary to provide strategic recommendations that will serve e2E’s clients well.
With a background that encompasses accounting, finance, treasury and decision support, Ed has provided a unique insight into many aspects of business and accounting operations for companies with revenue ranging from over $80 million to several billion dollars. He has led teams that have implemented many accounting process and procedural changes improving timeliness and the accuracy of financial reporting. He has been central to the development and expansion of advanced budget and forecasting processes for executive teams. Ed’s experience also includes negotiating and managing credit facilities, bank financings and lease arrangements. Ed holds an MBA with a Finance concentration from the University of Houston and an undergraduate Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Youngstown State University.
Ed began his career as a Junior Accountant with Global Marine, Inc., a major international offshore oil drilling contractor. During his time at Global Marine, Ed held several progressively more responsible accounting positions before transitioning to the Treasury Department where he was involved with debt financing, compliance and stock transactions.
In 1996, Ed and his family moved to Kansas City where he took a Treasury position with the original Sprint wireless company, Sprint Spectrum. Ed later took on the role of Finance Director at Sprint and over his eleven-year career spent time in the Treasury Department. As Finance Director, he played a key role in numerous Decision Support initiatives and ensuring accurate supporting financial data. While at Sprint, Ed’s teams were recipients of two annual Finance awards. Ed’s most recent role was Chief Financial Officer for Grantham University, an online provider of post-secondary education focusing on the military adult learner. At Grantham University, Ed had the honor of being selected as a "CFO of the Year" by the Kansas City Business Journal in 2014.
Ed and his wife, Nancy, have three grown children, all college educated, married and gainfully employed in their career of choice and have three grandchildren. He is a licensed pilot, a former local basketball official and likes to ride his bike, play golf (not enough) and play poker.
